On the Middle East market
LISMA will become a supplier of semi-finished glass products for the production of gas-discharge lamps in Islamic Republic of Iran. A contract has been signed for the supply of the first batch of tubular bulb made of hard glass; the enterprise starts to fulfill the order.
Negotiations on cooperation with Iran began in the spring of last year. Potential customers got familiar with the capabilities of the enterprise, studied technical documentation, and indicated their requirements for semi-finished products. A trial batch of bulb was sent to Tehran a few months ago. Testing was successful.
“The market of Eastern countries is a new market for our enterprise. The entry into this market is very important for us. First, as stated, we consistently implement the strategy of increasing the share of exports in sales. Secondly, we diversify our product line: we complement the standard direction - the lamps, by developing the glass production segment. As you know, the factory has modernized glass production, which is ready for a significant increase in the volume and expansion of the nomenclature. Now LISMA is already the single supplier of semi-finished products for all lighting enterprises in Russia and neighboring countries. However, the real capacity of the glassmaking complex is much more,”- commented Sergei Ermakov, Development Director of LISMA.
Cooperation with Iran has prospects for further development: the parties are already negotiating on the supply of the next type of bulbs - ellipsoidal. The specialists of LISMA started the production of samples according to customer drawings.
It should be noted that the head of state Vladimir Putin repeatedly said about the strategic importance of the markets of Africa and the Middle East for Russia. LISMA, which last year created co-production in Republic of Burundi (East Africa), plans to apply this experience in the East.
